\nThrough concepts typical to Sofronieva\u2019s texts, like the anthroposcene, cloning, and the literary multiverse she introduces a combination of practices in theatre, poetry, psychodrama, and natural sciences for the purposes of a new type of theatre for the Anthropocene, as a world that humans have created and for which they refuse to take responsibility.

A new collection of poems by two Bulgarian poets: Rumiana Ebert and Tzveta Sofronieva in the original Bulgarian and in English translation. This is the first in the Paekakariki Press Poems in Translation series. Rumiana Ebert is a writer, translator and chemist. Born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, she moved to Germany in 1966 and gained a PhD in Chemistry from the Technical University in Munich. She also studied Musicology at the University of Heidelberg. She has published four books of poems in German: Entgegenkommen, (Kastell, 1992) and Schnittstellen, (Kastell, 1996); Ecken und Ovale, (Wieser, 2013) and Mitlesebuch 135, (Aphaia, 2017). Tzveta Sofronieva is the author of twenty collections of poetry, short stories, essays and translations. Her work also encompasses poetry installations and she has edited several anthologies. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, she now is settled in Berlin and has a PhD in History of Science.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dabei vermittelt Tzveta Sofronievas neuer Gedichtband vor allem Mut zur kontinuierlichen Suche nach eigenen R\u00e4umen. In ihrem Zyklus widmet sich die Autorin der Mehrsprachigkeit und der \u00dcbersetzbarkeit und problematisiert gleichzeitig die nationale Verortung der Lyrik und die Gesetze des Marktes.<\/p>\n

Die viersprachige Ausgabe ist eine Hommage an Yvan Goll, f\u00fcr den die Mehrsprachigkeit eine poetische Notwendigkeit war und die Ortlosigkeit Schicksal. In den literarischen Sprachen Sofronievas und Golls, im Dialog mit eingeflochtenen Zitaten des Dichters sowie mit beigef\u00fcgten Fotografien aus seinem Archiv, bewegen sich die Gedichte zwischen N\u00e4he und Distanz, Gestern und Heute, wobei die Autorin nicht die Vergangenheit, sondern die Zukunft hinterfragt.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Many of the major figures in the history of science have produced literary works, but the relationship between their poetic texts and their scientific work is often underestimated. This paper illuminates the poetry of Erwin Schr\u00f6dinger\u2014one of the premier figures in twentieth-century science, and an accomplished poet in both English and his native German. It discusses existing perceptions of his poetry and challenges the assumptions that his poetic work was a mere hobby unrelated to his other achievements by focusing on the interplay between poetic images and scientific ideas in his German-language poems. It emphasizes that more research is needed on the understated role of bilingualism and of\u2014often marginalized\u2014writing in an adopted language in science and in poetry, with the premise that this feature of Schr\u00f6dinger\u2019s life deserves more study. It argues that Schr\u00f6dinger\u2019s literary imagination and his bilingualism are an integral part of his approach to reality and considers Schr\u00f6dinger\u2019s literary work to be an important aspect of his intellectual heritage.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Es ist leider so, dass in dieser Stadt die Leute kaum laut reden, auch wenn sie sehr aufgeregt sind, und dazu ist dieser Mann vermutlich Akademiker und die sprechen ohnehin selten laut. So kann meine Neugier worum sich dieses Gespr\u00e4ch drehen k\u00f6nnte, hier mitten im Park, wo zu dieser Zeit mitten in der Woche nur Hundebesitzer mit ihren Lieblingen spazieren gehen und sich ab und an gesundheitsbewusste Rentner, die ihre Eink\u00e4ufe bereits erledigt haben, treffen, in dieser Stadt, wo Leute so selten aufgeregt reden, besonders die gut ausgebildeten und die gepflegten, nicht befriedigt werden. Aber das ist eigentlich nicht wirklich entt\u00e4uschend, weil ich mich dem wei\u00dfen Januartag widmen wollte und keine interessanten Leute zu sehen erwartete.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
